03.21.16 - Hope From Him

  1. When All Seems Lost
    1. a. Coming up on the Easter Week, look at the hoplessness that Peter must have felt with things did not go his way the week The Lord was crucified.
      1. i. John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing . They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing. KJV
    1. b. This was not going at all the way Peter must have thought it would go.  His Lord, his Friend, his Teacher, his Master was dead.  He had seen it all.  Going back over the lessons, the conversations trying to make sense of what had happened must have been flying through his mind.
    1. c. When things take a turn we often go back to what we were before The Lord . . .for Peter, this was fishing.  This was what he resorted to when he didn’t know where else to turn.

          1. 2. Not Unbelief But Emptiness
    1. a. To be filled with Christ, we must be emptied of all other things.  For Peter this meant he must be drained of his hopes, his plans, mostly his will.  When we die to the things of this world and ourselves, we then are in a position to be resurrected in the likeness of The Lord
      1. i. Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. KJV

03.22.16 - Heirs Of Power

Romans 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made
sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.20
Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where
sin abounded, grace did much more abound:21 That as sin hath
reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness
unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord KJV

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world,
and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have
sinned:13(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not
imputed when there is no law14 Nevertheless death reigned from
Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude
of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to
become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:13
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the
will of man, but of God.14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt
among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten
of the Father,) full of grace and truth.15 John bare witness of him, and
cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is
preferred before me: for he was before me. KJV

Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the
dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also
quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 12
Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the
flesh. 13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the
Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. 14 For as many
as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye
have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have
received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The

quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
16 The
Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of
God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with
Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified
together. KJV
