Forgiveness

• • We are made in the image and likeness of God
• o It is not in our nature to forgive – it is in His

• • Jacob/Esau
• • Joseph & His Brothers
• o If you do not forgive them how will you lead them to Him?

You are no longer living on life support – we have eternal life through Jesus Christ who saved us and set us free from the power of darkness.

• • Colossians 2:12-15

12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

We need not worry about the power of the past – it has been taken care of at The Cross

Colossians 2:14

14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.KJV

If you do not know the Scriptures you don’t know Who He is or who  you are

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God , which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.KJV

 

 

 

It is really something to be needed.

• What happens when the circumstances change and you are not longer needed?

 

 

 It is something altogether different to be wanted

• To be chosen
• For another to be happy, fulfilled, able - WITHOUT you and still they want you

 

God is 

• Almighty 
• Sovereign
• Fully Sustained by Himself 
• He lacks nothing nor needs nothing 

 

 

And yet . . .He chooses us . . . He wants us . . .BEFORE TIME BEGAN

• Ephesians 1:4 Long ago, even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes NLT

We are not fighting a cultural battle - we are fighting a spiritual war

 

1. 1. Nothing New 

1. a. Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. KJV

1. 2. Lines In The Sand Or Walls In The Spirit

1. a. We leave it up to others, to those who we call moral, ethical, leaders, those who we voted into office to do the right thing and lead us in the right direction to decide for us:

1. 1. How far is too far?

1. 2. When is enough enough?

1. 3. These questions MUST be filtered through the Word of God. 

1. b. Fads, Culture And Sin

1. 1. Countries, states, cities, even churches have cultures that may differ from one to another

1. 1. There is nothing wrong with that until those ideologies differ and stray from the Word of God.

1. 2. When we are told what to believe by a people who have proven themselves lost to the Knowledge of God.

1. 2. Difference between culture and coercion

1. 3. Difference between walking in unity and walking in uniformity 

1. 3. Cultural Relevance VS Spiritual Maturity 

1. a. Why do we come to Church?

1. 1. Do we come for information or transformation? 

1. 1. There is a marked difference

1. 2. If the Light is on in The House is should not surprise you when roaches scatter.

1. 3. Itching ears

1. 4. Cancel Culture

1. a. Judges 2:10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel. 11 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim: 12 And they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD to anger. 1. b. Judges 2:10 After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the LORD or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel. NLT

1. 1. We cannot afford to leave it up to the next generation to interpret what they have not seen.  

1. 2. We write history by living it.

1. 1. They will not so much be changed by what we say but by what we did.  The memories of our walk should be burned onto the hearts of those that know us . . .

1. 3. Christianity is who we are - we need to live it out in our day to day lives.

1. 4. I don’t change the truth  - the truth changes me 

1. 5. Truth is a person - Jesus Christ 

1. c. I can boycott, yell and scream, tear down statues and say this and that did not happen but in the end every knee will still bow and every tongue will still confess that Jesus Christ is Lord

1. 5. Equipped For The Fight

1. a. We say there is not war because we are not equipped to fight it

1. b. We accept the way it is and what we have because what we want is too expensive and we are not willing to pay the cost

1. c. It is time to press!

1. b. Jesus just called us to go 

1. i. There really are very few perfect scenarios to preach the Gospel.  

1. ii. While the odds seem to never be in our favor of winning the lost - Jesus is on our side

1. c. Make A Plan 

1. i. Cover "the plan" in prayer

1. ii. The plan is not so much knowing what you are going to do, but that you are going to do something

1. iii. When Abraham left his homeland and all that he was familiar with he just went, 

1. 1. he did not know where he was going or when he was going to get there, 

1. 2. he did not know all the answers 

1. 3. He did know the Voice of God and in the end that was all he needed to know,

1. i. Even in a world that seems to be morally crumbling around us there are still good things happening all around us.  Root yourself in the good.

1. ii. 1 Samuel 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. KJV

1. a. Be what God has called you to be – nothing more and nothing less
1. i. Don’t try to be what you are not
