Luke 4:22And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?KJV
Isaiah 53:1Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. KJV
John 14:12Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father .13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
KJV

1. There were those who came in Distress. The were persecuted by Saul
2. There were those who were in Debt and about to be sold into slavery.
3. There were those who were discontented and unhappy with what life had to offer.

Zechariah 4:10For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.KJV
o [Who hath despised the day of small things?] The poverty, weakness, and unbefriended state of the Jews. It was said, "What are these feeble Jews doing?" "Will they build," etc.? No, but God will build by them, and He will perfect His building too
Nehemiah 4:2And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned?KJV
· Jesus came from a small townand partnered with twelve peopleto spread His movement. Thousands of people followed His teaching when He was alive, and even after His death over 2,000 years ago; Christianity is still spreading across the Globe.
· Consider the Earth.
o Small amongst the vast array of stars
o When Satan fell, he was cast down to the Earth, and all of the evil and rebellion in creation,
both natural and spiritual, are here on the Earth.
o That God did not destroy this tiny speck that had fallen but rather sent His Son for our redemption
o If that were not enough to make the Earth possibly the most important location in the creation, God the Father Himself will come to the Earth to live among men. For this reason, we shouldnever consider anyone or anything insignificant because it is small or weak.
o This also reveals an important truth—size may have little to do with importance.
