Have you ever been hungry enough to steal?  Broke down enough to lie?

Story of the fat brother imprisoned without bars by overeating - we want it but do we want it bad enough?

1.     Desperate Times Call For Desperate Measures

a.     Saul

                              i.         1 Samuel 28:5 And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled. 6 And when Saul inquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams nor by Urim, nor by prophets. 7 Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and inquire of her. 1.     Saul came to the point of fear and not knowing what to do

2.     He tried to approach The Lord but there was no answer

a.     Saul disgused himself

b.     Saul went against his own law/command

a.     Pray so hard that hell spits you out

1.     I Don’t Understand

a.     People are often afraid of and uncomfortable with what they do not understand.  

b.     Many times as a Church and The Body of Christ we are not as affective as we could be because of misunderstanding or being uncomfortable.

                              i.         Just  because we TELL someone what to do or how to think does not mean it will be that easy for that person to simply just change.

2.     Getting Help

a.     No one hesitates to ask for prayer in the ambulance on the way to the hospital after a heart attack, or with a broken leg, we want prayer but we seek a medical doctor as well. Why should mental illness and depression be any different???

a.     Aggregate

                              i.         A whole formed  by combining several typically disparate elements.  - ie all the groups coming together for damage.  

b.     Palmer worm

                              i.         We are the paler worm stage. 

                             ii.          It’s the larvae stage of a locust - insignificant alone but left to grow or group it devastates. 

                           iii.          It’s name literally means “to devour”. 

                           iv.         It’s also a creeping thing

1.     Moses And The Promised Land 

a.     Doing the right things most of the time doesn’t always mean things will turn out right

2.     Most Of The Time It Is Not As Bad As It Could Be

Dear Dad,

It is with great regret and sorrow that I’m writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend, because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mom and you. I’ve been finding real passion with Stacy, and she is so nice. However, I knew you would not approve of her because of her piercings, tattoos, and tight motorcycle clothes. Also, she is so much older than me.

But it’s not only the passion, Dad. She’s pregnant. Stacy said that we will be very happy. She owns a trailer in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children.

Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn’t really hurt anyone. We’ll be growing it for ourselves and trading it with other people in the commune for all the cocaine and ecstasy we want.

In the meantime, we’ll pray that science will find a cure for AIDS, so Stacy can get better. She sure deserves it!

Don’t worry, Dad. I’m 15, and I know how to take care of myself. Someday, I’m sure we’ll be back to visit, so you can get to know your many grandchildren.
