                              i.         Doubt is almost faiths opposite

1.     Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. KJV

a.     If we doubt we can take Him at His Word - then we begin to doubt His Identity, then we are no longer able to be sure of OUR identity . . .

a.     Psalms 91:1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. KJV

1.     Good Anchors 

a.     Hebrews 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; KJV

                            i.         Preceding verse notes that it is impossible for God to lie.  God has said some wonderful things about us, and since it is not possible for Him to lie there is so much hope in His words

1.     Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. 13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. KJV

a.     As with any good Father - God thinks good stuff towards us and has a plan for our lives

                              i.   This would seem to be the end, the last of days, no hope left! BUT GOD

1.     What Worship Is

a.     Genesis 22:1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. 2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. 3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him. 4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. 5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship , and come again to you, 6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. 7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son.                               i.         Worship - OT:7812 shachah (shaw-khaw'); a primitive root; to depress, i.e. prostrate (especially reflexive, in homage to royalty or God): KJV - bow (self) down, crouch, fall down (flat), humbly beseech, do (make) obeisance, do reverence, make to stoop, worship. 

1.     First time the word used in the OT had nothing at all to do w/ music.

2.     Worship is what we do from our heart, from our mind

a.     Music is a tool we use to worship

b.     Abraham was taking Isaac to give him to The Lord - Isaac was not worship but a tool that Abraham was to use in his act of worship.  Worship came when Abraham was willing to make sacrifice - to give what really meant something to him.

2.     Self denial 

3.     Lifting up God - above all things 

4.     Conditional on our heart status

1.     Matthew 5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift . KJV

1.     The gift was not what was focused upon but rather what was inside the heart.

2.     Objects Of Our Affection

a.     Numbers 21:7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us.                               i.         The thing that God sent as a help became more important to the people than The God that sent it

3.     Style VS Savior

                            ii.         Her name literally means who is God?
