2025.10.29 - Thoughts From The Drivers Seat

Just some observations about the trip we are on

Road Weariness - The older I get the less inclined I am to take a road trip - I want to be comfortable more than I want to see the sights and experience new things

·      2 Thessalonians 3:13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing. KJV

o   There is a difference between being tired OF doing something and tired FROM doing something

o   Who am I doing this for?

§  Me?

§  The Church?

§  Obligation or Habit?

§  God Himself!

·      Even those who walk in victory can tire from the battle!

o   Matthew 8:25

o   Mark 4:38

o   Luke 8:23

o   John 4:6

o   Mark 1:35

o   Mark 6:31

§  These Scriptures are all about Jesus resting, sleeping or praying

Highway Robbery – Count the cost

·       Luke 14:28-33

28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost , whether he have sufficient to finish it?

29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,

30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?

32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.

33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.  KJV

Take Breaks – We aren’t renting a room or camping here, just stopping to refresh a bit

·       Times of refreshing

    • Looking unto Jesus as the Author and Finisher of our faith

Road Rage – You are trying not to kill anyone, and they are don’t realize what is at stake

·       Matthew 24:9-12

9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.

11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. KJV

Just Follow The Map – you won’t get there if you just stop

·       Next verse from above - Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. KJV

·       God has a plan and know what is around the next bend

·       Story of Ruth – God has a plan!

Border Crossing – know that we are in a new season to us, but not a new season to God

·       Judges 21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes. KJV

·       Judges 2:8 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an hundred and ten years old. 9 And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-heres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash. 10 And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel. 11 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim: KJ

·       You will never go where He has not already been – but it needs to be known when you cross borders

·       Time zones – adjust your clock

·       Weather zones – I dress differently on days I go to battle

·       Cultural Zones – I am in a foreign place

2025.10.25 - The Road To Destruction

Proverbs 4:14 Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. 15 Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away. KJV

Proverbs 4:26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. 27 Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil. KJV

Ahab

·      Comes on the scene in 1 Kings 16 with a rough start

o   1 Kings 16:28 So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria: and Ahab his son reigned in his stead. 29 And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years. 30 And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD above all that were before him. 31 And it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshipped him. 32 And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria. 33 And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him KJV

How did he get to this awful place?

·      He allowed child sacrifice

o   1 Kings 16:34 In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun. KJV

§  Joshua 6:26 And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the LORD, that riseth up and buildeth this city Jericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it. KJV

He blamed others for what he himself was responsible for

·      1 Kings 18:17 And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? 18 And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim. KJV

He had seen the miracles of God but would not fully commit to God

·      On 2 different occasions he had gone to war under the direction of God after hearing from God for the purpose that Ahab would “know that I am The Lord”

He wanted the things of God his way instead of Gods way

·      After war he allowed the attacking king to live and made a peace treaty with him

·      When he was rebuked by God for this he became “heavy and displeased”

o   Heavy – peevish, to turn away morally, rebellious, stubborn

o   Displeased – to boil up, to be wroth

He was familiar with God but not a follower of Him

·      There are many that know the ways of God but refuse to walk down those paths

He wanted to be around those of God, but to not serve God

·      Obaidah

·      Elijah

He had the authority to do wrong, which means he had the authority to do right

·      He was a part of the death of  Naboth – who took a stand which cost him his life

·      He allowed Jezebel to be what she wanted to be instead of what she was supposed to be

Time to take a stand

·      Naboth

·      David

·      Shammah – field of lentils 2 Samuel 23:12

2025.10.22 - MAPS - The Road To Victory

Genesis 3:15

15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. KJV

1 Samuel 17:1 Now the Philistines gathered together their armies to battle, and were gathered together at Shochoh, which belongeth to Judah, and pitched between Shochoh and Azekah, in Ephes-dammim.2 And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and pitched by the valley of Elah, and set the battle in array against the Philistines. 3 And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them. KJV

1 Samuel 17:1 Now the Philistines gathered together their armies to battle, and were gathered together at FENCE/HEDGE, which belongeth to PRAISE/REVERE, and pitched between FENCE/HEDGE and FENCE ABOUT/, in The BOUNDARY OF BLOOD DROPS.2 And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and pitched by the valley of THE MIGHTY POST, and set the battle in array against the Philistines. 3 And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them. KJV

1 Samuel 17:34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: 35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. 36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God. 37 David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee. KJV

  • David was not at all shy about praising God for what God had done in his life by delivering him from the lion and the bear, casting his faith in his praise upon The Lord.

Goliath – means to strip bare, publish, advertise ( offspring/accuser of the brethren)

2025.10.19 - The Road Back To Eden

Genesis 3:8-10

8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day : and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. KJV

·      Spiritual innocence

·      Walked with God

·      Power

·      Authority

They lived like no other 2 people since have ever lived –

·      before the Fall of man!

·       Before sin

·      No separation from God

We get “back to Eden” by going through another Garden – Gethsemane

  • Your will not mine
  • Deep prayer
  • Place of leaving it all behind
  • Place of aloneness - being set apart for what no one else understands

Seek Him With All Of Our Hearts

Jeremiah 29:13-14

13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

14 And I will be found of you , saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive. KJV

I Wanna Walk Like –

·      Elijah – and fly away with Him

·      John – and know that I am loved

·      Abraham – and be His friend

·      Enoch – and be not here because I have been taken

·      Revelator – see Him like never before
