- a. Rom 3:23 For all have sinned , and come short of the glory of God KJV
- b. Eccl 7:20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. KJV
- c. 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. KJV
- i. Salvation means - rescue, deliver, assist
- 1. Who needs salvation?
- 2. How do we know if we are saved?
- II. Salvations Is In Christ Alone!
- a. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. KJV
- b. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. KJV
- c. 1 Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all KJV
- i. Christ alone can save us and wash us from our sins. Period. There is no other way to be clean, there is no other way for forgiveness, there is no other way to get to Heaven.
- 1. Have you heard of other "ways' to get to Heaven? What do the above passages say about any other "ways" to get to Heaven?
- 2. Why is Christ able to save us? (He was without sin and became a perfect sacrifice on the cross and there made intercession for us; He took our place & punishment)
- III. I Know That I Know That I Know!
- a. Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. KJV
- b. Acts 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved KJV
- c. Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation KJV
- i. Ask. Believe. Confess. These are the ABC's of salvation
- 1. How can you know that you are a Christian?
- 2. How can a person become a Christian if they are not?
