1.   Stand Still 

a.    You cannot outrun your past - but you can outlive it

                           i.         Fear ye not

1.   If God is for you then who can be against you?

2.   Greater is the Jesus inside of you than the thing that is chasing you?

3.   Your best days are in front of  you!

4.   You have a future

5.   God has not given me the spirit of fear but of Power, Love and a Sound Mind!

                        ii.         Stand still - 

1.   Stop trying to run away from that which is chasing you, that which you addicted to, that which you cannot change  or get away from  . . .

                      iii.         Stand still and see . . . 

1.   Recognize the fact that in your own efforts you are not getting anywhere fast

2.   Look up and see God is on your side

3.   While you cannot simply ignore what is behind you, it does not have to be the full focus of your life - Isaiah said I saw also The Lord high  and lifted up - focus on God

a.    The windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror for a reason

                       iv.         God swallowed up the Egyptians in the tumult of  the Red Sea, that had parted for His people to cross but closed in on those that were giving chase - God takes care of His kids.

• All they knew was to work and to do what they were told to do  

• Their identity was not in who they were but in what they did - they were slaves and they were constantly reminded of that fact by their captors.

• Someone else's problem does not have to be your problem.  If they don’t like the way you look, the way you act, the way you worship, then that is on them, not you.  If God doesn’t like, that is another thing altogether.

 

 

• Either a moment can define you or how you deal with it can define  you.  You don’t have to allow yourself to be trapped in that moment when someone did you wrong, called you out, or even those moments where you were caught and found guilty. 

 

Isaiah 53:1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of he LORD revealed?

2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
