- 1. The Lord . . .
- a. Take a good look at who is listening and attending to our prayers!
- i. Yehovah OT:3068 Yehovah (yeh-ho-vaw'); from OT:1961; (the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God: KJV - Jehovah, the Lord. Compare OT:3050, OT:3069.
- 1. Wow - The Self Existent Eternal God who is our Creator, our God, has heard our prayers. David had the confidence that he was not praying "to the wind" but to The Most Powerful Source and Existence in the Universe!
- 2. Hath heard . . .
- a. OT:8085 shama` (shaw-mah'); a primitive root; to hear intelligently (often with implication of attention, obedience, etc.; causatively, to tell, etc.): KJV - attentively, call (gather) together, carefully, certainly, consent, consider, be content, declare, diligently, discern, give ear, (cause to, let, make to) hear (-ken, tell), indeed, listen, make (a) noise, (be) obedient, obey, perceive, (make a) proclaim (-ation), publish, regard, report, shew (forth), (make a) sound, surely, tell, understand, whosoever [heareth], witness.
- 3. Will receive . . .
- a. OT:3947 laqach (law-kakh'); a primitive root; to take (in the widest variety of applications):
KJV - accept, bring, buy, carry away, drawn, fetch, get, infold, many, mingle, place, receive (-ing), reserve, seize, send for, take (away, -ing, up), use, win.
- 4. How We Approach
- a. Why do we come as beggars before The Lord? The enemy of our souls would have us to think that we are nothing, that God is too busy to hear, or will not hear our cries for help, our reaching out to Him for comfort, for grace, for fellowship. Not so. God has sent His Son to bridge the gap so that we may have continued fellowship with Him. Call out to Him and be heard!!
- i. Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. KJV

- iii. Deuteronomy 4:7 For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for? KJV

- g. Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. KJV
- h. Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. KJV
