05.07.16 - Authority From God

Deuteronomy 11:24 Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.  25 There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you. 1. 1. Who You Are
1. a. If I were to ask you who you were, you would likely give me your name.  But is that really who you are? 
1. b. We "go by" the name our parents gave us.  As a matter of fact, most of the people you and I know are what we are told to be, either by our parents, society or culture.  Or far worse what the enemy tells us we are.
1. c. The truth is we are so much more than what others think of us, or what we think of ourselves.  We may respond to the definition of others on our lives - or we can respond to who Christ has called us to be.
1. 2. Authority From God
1. a. In Deuteronomy 11:24 God is telling Moses about the authority He is giving him to go in and take the land.  
1. b. The land already in reality belongs to God - who then gives it to Moses.
1. i. 1 Corinthians 10:26 For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof. KJV

1. ii. God had already given the land to Abraham, but the people of God had yet to occupy

1. a. God gave dominion to man
1. i. Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. KJV

1. a. Take a good look at who is listening and attending to our prayers!

1. i. Yehovah  OT:3068 Yehovah (yeh-ho-vaw'); from OT:1961; (the) self-Existent or Eternal;  Jehovah, Jewish national name of God:  KJV - Jehovah, the Lord. Compare OT:3050, OT:3069.

1. 1. Wow - The Self Existent Eternal God who is our Creator, our God, has heard our prayers.  David had the confidence that he was not praying "to the wind" but to The Most Powerful Source and Existence in the Universe!

1. 2. Hath heard . . .

1. a. 1. 4. How We Approach

1. a. Why do we come as beggars before The Lord?  The enemy of our souls would have us to think that we are nothing, that God is too busy to hear, or will not hear our cries for help, our reaching out to Him for comfort, for grace, for fellowship.  Not so.  God has sent His Son to bridge the gap so that we may have continued fellowship with Him.  Call out to Him and be heard!!

1. i. Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. KJV

1. ii. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. KJV
