II. A This Day Decision
a. Joshua 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. 15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. KJV
i. The Flood/Baptism does not keep you from evil, it is a shadow/type/memorial of cleansing – it is our responsibility to keep clean through walking with Christ in The Holy Spirit and repentance
ii. This was not a day to be saved from sin
iii. This was not the day you turned to Jesus because you needed help with your marriage, finances or health
iv. This was not the day of choice where you followed The Lord because you wanted to get out of Egypt
v. This was not the day you were “tasting the goodness of The Lord” and deciding whether or not to follow Him
vi. This was a new day. A different day. This was a day and decision made by adults who had seen things, lived things, heard things, they were not walking in hopeful prophecies about what was to come but had lived out prophetic fulfilment in each and every step they had taken for decades.
1. Ephesians 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: KJV

IV. The Joshua Call & The Elijah Call
a. Elijah made a similar call in a time of decision to a people who answered not a word
i. 1 Kings 18:19 Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table. 20 So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel. 21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. KJV

1. Joshuas prophetic judgement came to pass:
a. 1 Kings 16:33 And Ahab made a grove; and Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him. 34 In his days did Hiel the Bethelite build Jericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Joshua the son of Nun. KJV
