Genesis 12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. KJV

  • Abraham was 75 when God made him the promise of being Father to great nations.

Genesis 15:3 And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir.

4 And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.

5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. KJV

***********************************

7 And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it.

8 And he said, Lord GOD, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it? KJV

  • Abraham had begun to doubt and God spoke again to him and confirmed the promise

Genesis 17:15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.

16 And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.

17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? KJV

  • He fell on his face and laughed, saying can a 100 year old man have a son

Abraham believed God in regards to the birth of a son and God accounted it to him for righteousness, we believe God in regards to the birth of HIS SON and God accounts to us for righteousness.

This does not mean

  • We have it all figured out
  • We always are going to know the next step
  • We understand or even like what God is doing.

What it DOES mean is that we believe in Him, we believe Him

We believe what He says, in what He does and who He calls us to be

Like a child we come to Him, not knowing the answers to all the why's and how's but trusting Him anyways.  A child loves his parents long before he is even able to form the words to ask the qeustions, why? Because the parent first loved the child, 1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us. KJV

2022.12.14 - Something More Than Deliverance

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

  • NO SERVICE THE NEXT 2 WEDNESDAYS!
  • Braums after service on Harrison for fellowship

I don’t wanna serve a God that cannot or will not deliver.  I serve Jesus because I know if He can raise Himself from the dead He can raise ME from the dead, I am so confident of that fact that before my physical body dies I will allow my will, my nature and my want to to die in His Presence because I know that I know that I know that He will raise me up, not like I was but like He is

Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

KJV

Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him KJV

Established facts:

God CAN deliver

God DOES deliver

But God does not ALWAYS deliver . . .

WHY does He choose to not always deliver/

  • Why did God not just raise up people who were filled w/ His Spirit to overcome the leaders of Egypt instead of having them leave Egypt and conquer the Promised Land?

  • Reason 01 - God did not want them to have Egypt because it was EGYPT - He wanted something BETTER for them.
    • Better FOR you does not always look better TO you.

  • Reason 02 - You cannot have dromion over what is not there.

Joshua 1:3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.

4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. KJV

God has promised to do the thing but He will do it through His people.

What does the Bride look like?

Proverbs 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

14 She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. KJV

2022.12.11 - The Coming/Advent

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."

The word “Advent” is derived from the Latin word adventus, meaning “coming,”

2022.12.07 - Word Up

    On Words

When you get a word from God, it will fuel you through the rough times ahead if you will let it

Moses told the Lord, if you go not up w/ us we will not go up . . .he needed to be sure that God was on his side, he needed a word.

Exodus 33:13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.

14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. KJV

    Off Words

Sometimes God's words seem to come at the wrong time and not make sense . . .

    Be of good cheer . . .

John 16:32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer ; I have overcome the world KJV

This is my beloved Son . . .

Matthew 17:5 and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son , in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. KJV

Not about what Jesus had done up to this point - but about what he was willing to do and about to do . . .from here He was led into the Wilderness and tempted by the Devil

    I have plans for you . . .

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

    •  They are in exile
    • Their homeland has been invaded
    • Loss of life of loved ones

Sometimes we don’t get it because God is speaking to who He has called us to be not who we are acting like at the moment.  God is trying to call out of us what He knows is inside of us because He Himself put it there.

12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

14 And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive. KJV

    Stolen Words

Satan will come and tempt you with doubt to make you not believe what the Word was that God gave you . . .

    Did God really say?

When Christ was in the wilderness Satan came at him with his own word "if".  Jesus came back at Satan with what God had said and what God had written.  Be sure that the Word of God will not ever lead you astray.

The Bible says to hide the Word in our hearts that we might not sin against Him

    More Than Yes Words

Sometimes we need more than just The Lord's permission - we need His blessing!

    Joshua

Joshua 9:14 And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the LORD. KJV

    David

    1 Samuel 30:7-8

7 And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David.

8 And David inquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. KJV

    • The enemy wants your tv and radio on, he wants you with your face stuck in the phone
    • Psalmist writes He leadeth me beside the still waters, why - so you can hear what He has to say as He is leading you.  Two don’t walk on a journey and not talk to each other. If Christ is leading is someplace He is not always silent as He walks.

2022.12.04 - Following The Unseen Star

Following The Unseen Start (Sermon Notes)

Saturday, December 3, 2022 6:22 PM

Matthew 2:1-10

2:1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, 2 Saying,

3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
7 Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, inquired ofthem diligently what time the star appeared.
8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.
