2024.10.30 - 33.6

God is not in a hurry:

·      He will take years, decades even do something wonderful in our lives

·      We live in an instant results world, culture and mind frame

Time And Space

·      Because we live in time and space we limit our thoughts to time and space

·      God lives outside of each, He is not limited by either

·      God allows finite beings, who DO live in time and space, to effect not only this “realm or dimension” but to also have bearing on the reaches beyond our human grasp

Tomorrow VS Eternity

·      We are told to not worry about TOMORROW but to be mindful of ETERNITY.

o   Matthew 6:34

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. KJV

·      Matthew 10:28

28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. KJV

God went to great lengths to have men prophecy things that would happen far beyond their lifetime

o   What I do matters – but it may not seem to matter today or tomorrow.

o   Truthfully we plan for retirement more than we plan for eternity.

o   We have not been transformed in our thought life.

Preparation & Purpose

·      Luke 2:25-32

25 And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.

26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ.

27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,

28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,

29 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:

30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;

32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. KJV

·      Esther 4:14

14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this ? KJV

o   That means that all she had gone through had prepared her for this moment in time

§  The loss of her parents

§  etc

·      1 Samuel 17:29-40

29 And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?

30 And he turned from him toward another, and spake after the same manner: and the people answered him again after the former manner.

31 And when the words were heard which David spake, they rehearsed them before Saul: and he sent for him.

32 And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.

33 And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.

34 And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:

35 And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.

36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.

37 David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.

38 And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of mail.

39 And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him.

40 And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine. KJV

o   Each circumstance had prepared David for this moment, this battle, this victory

o   He was confident that his steps were guided and had led him to this point in his life

2024.10.23 - He Will Do It Again

Not Such A Big Deal – Or Is It?

·       Anyone can have a good day

·       Anyone can make a comeback

·       Miracles happen all the time if you look hard enough

·       It rains on the just and the unjust Matthew 5:45.

Psalms 40:1-3

I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. KJV

·       This was not a one time prayer of deliverance

·       I waited, and waited and in my waiting I waited

God Of Great Mercy

There are definitely once in a lifetime opportunities

·       Missed deals

·       Bad decisions that cannot really be fixed

·       Broken relationships

·       Life in general

This seems to be something different:

·       Overwhelming

·       Deadly

·       Breaking

·       Past a point of no return

Maybe It was Sin David Was Dying from

·       He mentions iniquity in Psalm 40 &41

But God

Psalm 41:8

They say, “A deadly thing is poured out on him; he will not rise again from where he lies.”

God Of Repeats

·       He will do it again!!

·       God has allowed you – maybe even led you to a place where only HE could bring you back

·       He wanted to show the world that we are HIS and He is doing this thing in our lives.

o   Let the referee pound on the mat 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-87-9-10

o    let the interpreter of dreams say all is lost

o   let those that surround us like jackals howl and wail at our demise, our defea

o    God will have the last word

He hardened pharaoh’s heart to get him glory

His deliverance is not a license to sin but rather to live.  I don’t have to be terrified of failing to point I stop moving, stop living and stop dreaming – don’t stop stepping out in faith because your feet don’t touch solid earth!

There are opportunities that are once in a lifetime.  Red letter days.  Chances   But His grace and mercy are repeated from His great love for us.  Tender and loving He comes again and again when we cry out in the dark of night to comfort,  to hold and to deliver.

As If Almighty Couldn’t Be Topped

The Almighty God is our Everlasting Father

2024.10.16 - Tarrying

Isaiah 40:31

31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. KJV

Differences

There is a difference in not moving and waiting

·       . . .but they that wait upon . . . OT:6960 qavah (kaw-vaw'); a primitive root; to bind together(perhaps by twisting), i.e. collect; (figuratively) to expect:

KJV - gather (together), lookpatientlytarry, wait (for, on, upon).

Psalms 46:10-11

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. KJV

Acts 2:1-4

2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. KJV

Luke 24:49-50

49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. KJV

·      They were not 100% sure what it was exactly they were waiting on

·      They were waiting on something they could not delay nor hurry

·      They were waiting on something they could not produce on their own

·      They were waiting in expectation and not fear

*they were seeking something more than what they already had - they wanted more and were willing to do whatever it took to get more

*when you are waiting you look at things and consider things that perhaps normally would not cross your mind

I am not sure exactly what God is about to do – but I know if He is doing something I want to be a part of it!
