The depth of my encounter with God dictates the level of change in my life.
For such a times as this some of you are being raised up!
When you hear His Name, what comes to mind?
With t he exception of His birth, when was Jesus "most like Jesus"
It is not that God CAUSES bad things to happen so that He may be glorified, but He does USE the bad things that happen in a world that is lost without Him, in places where He is not allowed and darkness holds tight. Bad things happen in places where God is not given dominion in the heart of man.
Gethsemane was the place Christ fought with His own flesh and will, and won. The name means oil or wine press. We are pressed until Christ comes forth from our lives . . Thereby we glorify Him.
James 1:22But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only , deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.KJV
2 Corinthians 1:8For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: 9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: 10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver usKJV
o Out of measure - it has been said that God will not allow more to come upon us than we can handle, that is not true at all. Here Paul notes that a burden greater than he could bear was put upon him, so dire that he thought he would die. But Paul noted that his trust was not in his flesh but in God his Creator
2 Corinthians 4:14Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. 15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. 16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.KJV
Esther 4:13Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews. 14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?KJV
