Psalms 42
42:1 To the chief Musician, Mas'-chil, for the sons of Ko'rah.
As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.
6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.
7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
8 Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.
9 I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
10 As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God. KJV
Will you still bow before a silent God?
Will you trust in what you cannot see and what you do not understand?
My God My God, why hast thou forsaken me?
John 11:1-5
11:1 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus , of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
2(It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus . KJV
John 11:19-21
19 And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.
20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.
21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died. KJV
Zecharaias did not speak for a period of Time
Sometimes God doesn’t speak
Bow before a
• Just God
• Holy God
• God of grace
• God of mercy
• Will I bow before a silent God
quiet in heaven for how long - a period of time
400 years of silence.
Will you trust. God that sometimes says no.
Will you love Him for Who He is and not just what He does
Will you keep praising Him when the performance stops.
Wednesday night didn’t go well. I was tired and not pleased at the delivery of the message and when I got home we started watching a movie. While taking a shower I was overcome with a spirit of depression. Then I read this note. I went to shower and put on some praise. I ah e it set on shuffle but it only played praise.
He doesn’t need to show up bc He is already there
Will we stop pressing in when we can’t “feel it” like we do with our human relationships or will we love until the music starts again
