2025.04.02 - Light And Darkness - The Power To Change

Genesis 1:1-4

1:1 In the beginning God created the Heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there belight: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. KJV

 

1. Let there be
1. Something different from “created” 

                                              i.     Created – 1254

1.    OT:1254 bara' (baw-raw'); a primitive root; (absolutely) to create; (qualified) to cut down (a wood), select, feed (as formative processes): -choose, create (creator), cut down, dispatch, do, make (fat). 

                                            ii.     Let there be – 1961

1.    OT:1961 hayah (haw-yaw); a primitive root [compare OT:1933]; to exist, i.e. be or become, come to pass (always emphatic, and not a mere copula or auxiliary): KJV - beacon, altogether, be (-come), accomplished, committed, like), break, cause, come (to pass), do, faint, fall, follow, happen, have, last, pertain, quit (oneself-), require, use. 

2. A command – eternal. – command versus create

Created                          

01.01	God created the Heaven and the earth
01.27	So God created man in his image
01.21	God created great whales and every living creature
01.27	God created man in his own image
	In the image of God created he him
	Male and female created he them
02.03	He rested from all his work which God created and made
02.04	Generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created

 

Let there be

01.03	God said let there be light	01.04 – and Goddivided the light from the darkness
01.06	Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters and let it divide the waters from the waters	01.06 – and let it divide the waters from the waters
01.14	Let there be lights in the firmament to divide day from night	01.14 – divide the day from the night

 

Jeremiah 1:9-10

9 Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

10 See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out , and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant. KJV
