1. Get Ready
a. Joshua 3:1 And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over. 2 And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the host; 3 And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it. 4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore. 5 And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves : for to morrow the LORD will do wonders among you. 2. What Stands In The Way
a. Egypt
i. What lies behind you can prevent you from reaching what lies in front of you
1. Egypt was all they knew, it was where they were born, where they were raised and where they saw their forefathers die. It was where they were fed, where they slept and where they toiled. Sometimes the familiar, even if it is bad, will hold us from reaching forward simply because we are familiar with it
a. Exodus 16:3 And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger. KJV
2. They could not invest in what they had not SEEN, God wanted them to learn to walk by faith
a. Up to this point they were always able to see the Presence of God, in cloud by day and pillar of fire by night
i. There is no record of either of those manifestations being present after the Jordan crossing.

3. The Wait Is Over
a. It had been 40 years since they had left Egypt
