3. What God was about to tell Hosea to do must not have been easy for him to hear, much less follow out, see notes on 01.03 but at some point he fell in love with this woman, it wasn't just about an assignment, it became about his love for her.

2. Some say that Hosea is one of the greatest love stories ever written: as far as we know Gomer never even loved Hosea! THAT is what makes it a great love story, Hosea never gave up.

9. Hosea 1:4
i. Hosea 1:4 And the LORD said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel. KJV
1. Who knows what , if anything, God spoke to Hosea during the time Hosea married Gomer to the time she bore him a son, 9 months is a long time.
2. It seems that Gomer was at least faithful to Hosea during this time because we know according to Scripture that Jezreel was Hosea's son
ii. Jezreel - God scatters OT:3157 Yizre`e'l (yiz-reh-ale'); from OT:2232 and OT:410; God will sow; Jizreel, the name of two places in Palestine and of two Israelites: KJV - Jezreel.

1. His name shows two sides of God's character:
a. He will scatter those who are against Him and sew judgment among them
